What we do

Coopers Wholesale Ltd provides a specialized service for the collection and disposal of scrap domestic appliances of all types. Using our own modern fleet of vehicles and experienced staff Coopers are able to provide flexible clearance for both small local business, and large national contracts.

About Coopers Wholesale

Coopers Wholesale Ltd started life as Coopers Cookers established in 1979. Coopers Cookers supplied quality reconditioned domestic appliances to the trade and retail markets. The demand for our reconditioned products required us to find ever increasing volumes of raw material and the search lead us to develop good working relationships with local and national electrical retailers providing them with efficient clearance of scrap appliances.

In 1997 we became Coopers Wholesale Ltd and we continue to recondition domestic appliances for both trade customers and our own retail outlet but the introduction of new legislation has seen our company emphasis change more towards providing waste management services, in particular for the retail electrical trade but also for NHS Trusts, Waste management companies, national charities and holiday parks.

The introduction of The Ozone Depleting Regulations in 2000 led us to successfully apply for a Waste management licence and we were subsequently able to secure a national contract for refrigeration collection and disposal on behalf of a major electrical retailer.

In July 2005 legislative changes reclassified scrap refrigeration units and televisions as hazardous waste requiring specialist disposal and we at Coopers have been pleased to offer this service to our customers.

We believe it is our own experience as a retailer that has enabled us to provide waste management services tailored to meet the specific requirements of the independent electrical retailer.

The implementation of the WEEE Directive will present many challenges but Coopers remain committed to providing a flexible, efficient and cost effective collection and disposal service to the independent electrical retailer.
